So how do you get a software job without a coding bootcamp or a degree?

This is becoming more and more popular in recent years. When I got my first software job 10+ years ago, there were no coding bootcamps and there were no stories of people getting software jobs without getting a software degree. But now I see so many stories online of people getting software jobs without degrees.

I’ve seen a lot of stories and have seen a lot of people ask questions about how to get into the software industry. I do have a degree, so your path will be different than mine, but as someone who is currently working in the software industry who has seen people get in and have also interviewed people, I can share some of my thoughts and touch on things that people on the outside don’t seem to understand.
