People are always talking about coding bootcamps, courses, and software job interviews. Many talk about how hard it is just to land a software job interview. What’s going on? Why are people struggling to get software job interviews? I think people are skipping a step in their programming careers, and that step is internships!

I’m surprised about how little I see people talking about internships. Internships are the practical training grounds before working at an actual job. It’s the middle ground between education and work. It’s already hard getting a job straight out of college without an internship. How much harder it is to get a job without both a degree and an internship.

My internship was what led me to getting my first software job. Internships were also the key for many of my friends. There are so many benefits to internships and I’ll be sharing them in this video.
